Back in May we were blessed by my friend Keli with free tickets to the Des Moines Zoo.We decided to take my mom since we hadn't been able to spend much time lately. We thought it would be a great way for us to have some fun outdoors!
And we were right! We had so much fun looking at and learning about the animals. It was a beautiful day with wonderful weather.

We packed a picnic lunch and after a few sights we went out and found a picnic table to enjoy our lunch on.
After lunch we played on the new playground they had.

We headed back in and had some more fun checking out all the Des Moines Zoo has to offer.
