Stung by a bee?!

Like my title?... Ha! Well I didn't. Thats right I got stung by a bee! For the first time since I was a kid! I think I may have been more shocked than in pain. But it definitely, as its called, stung! Then it itched for a week.

The great part about being stung by a bee is it will help me remember the sweet time I had with my family at Grays Lake! The girls and I spent the better part of a Saturday enjoying the weather, park and best of all time with Daddy!

As usual mommy brought the camera, here are the highlights...

We started off at the playground (that's where the bee found me)

I think this one will have be printed and put on our entertainment center!

Then we began our walk and ended up on the other side of the lake, playing in the large open grass area.

It was challenging trying to line up these first few shots. But they are so fun it was worth it!

We did lots of running

We enjoyed watching a few fighter jets flying over head

This tree made for a great family photo opp

My husband is looking handsome with his full  beard!

As always I adore her smile

We decided since it was already past nap time we would just walk back the way we came rather than making the long trek all the way around the lake.

On our walk back to the van we had the privilege of seeing this beautiful featherly couple.

It was a wonderful Saturday afternoon, spent with my favorite people. We are so blessed to be having this wonderful fall weather and my family plans on taking advantage of it. Until the dreaded snow arrives that is.

However, no matter how much I love or dislike the weather outside I want to remember that this is not my permanent home. This world is not what I desire to love. I want to keep my heart focused on the things of heaven.
I'm reminded of the reason behind this in the verses from 1 John 15-17
"Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever."

Hodge-Podge September

Wow where did September go? I find the older I get the more often I find myself wondering where the time went. Pretty common I suppose.

So here is a hodge-podge of our September events....

Sisters enjoying a wonderfully warm September day outdoors.

Kiara had a fun filled evening of running and playing with her friend Dava at Raccoon River Park
